Methane emission

Being 21 times more powerful than carbon dioxide, methane emission from landfills contributes to climate change. 

Risk assesment requires insight in both emission pathways and quantities.

Due to the higher temperature of landfill gas, methane emission pathways can be visualized through IR-measurements (red colour in picture)

Commercial software can be used to calculate methane emission from the waste body (interface of Gassim by Golder associates).
